Sell Avon Online

Selling Avon OnLine using Social Media

     There are many social media avenues to take these days, and selling Avon using these platforms is a great way to find new customers and share in your excitement about selling Avon. Whether you are tech savvy or not, social media is part of our everyday lives. The sooner we embrace the idea, the sooner we can get our marketing strategies in place and start to get results.  I have been using Facebook and Twitter to market my Avon business, and of course Blogger, and I would like to share some tips that may be helpful to other representatives. 

     Let's start with Facebook. The first step is to set up a separate Facebook page for your business. This is quite easy and it allows you to post whenever you want without annoying anyone on your personal page. Update your cover photo with a nice picture from Avon (I have the Matte Lipsticks) and of course a picture of you. Follow Me on Facebook to see what I'm doing. Those that are interested in Avon will "like" your page and stay up to date on what you are posting about new products, beauty tips, specials or whatever information you would like your customers to have. Each campaign, I post the new brochure cover with the link to my eStore. (Let me know if you need help setting up your eStore). I also post current code offers that usually come monthly, right from Avon. I have found that posting all the offers at once is a little overwhelming, so I have started posting separate offers based on the dates due. Make sure you state when the offer expires to cover yourself, and I usually try to post a picture of the item offered. Visit your WebOffice at Avon.com to find posts that you can share directly to Facebook. It will prompt you where to share, and I choose "share to a page you manage" option. That will go directly to my business page. 
     One more thing about marketing your business on Facebook, and this is totally optional. You have the choice of "boosting" your posts. What this means is paying for your posts to be reached by more people outside your family and friends. I only do this on my business page and I have been successful with reaching new people interested in my page. You set your own budget, duration of the boost, and your target audience. You can also stop the boost at any time. Again this is optional and you may have enough Facebook followers that you don't have to spend any extra money. As an example, I boosted the C9 brochure cover,  and got 100 new followers, that to me are potential customers! I paid $35 for one week which was well within my marketing budget. 
     Let's move on to Twitter. I usually use Twitter to share posts directly from Avon. You can add some text that makes it a little more personal. The more followers you have, the more potential customers. I usually share my eStore at least once per week, and current product information is always what seems to interest people. So keep it short and sweet, and most of all interesting and relevant to your business. 
     As you probably have gathered, I love to share ideas and information through my Blogs. If you haven't done so yet, set up a Blog and post often. It can be on your Avon website or any other Blog site. The Avon Blog is somewhat limited because you can't add pictures unless you know HTML coding, and the text is sometimes crunched together vs. neat spacing and indenting, again unless you know HTML coding. I am going to put together an informative blog about this at a later date. Subscribe to my Blog and watch for it. Whatever you choose, have fun with it! Your customers will appreciate it too!

Understanding Aging Skin

As most of us know, signs of aging happens. Whether you are in your 20’s or 60’s, we all have skin care concerns. There are many causes that contribute to signs of aging including smoking, stress, lack of sleep and sleep position, pollution, facial expressions, and diet.
Smoking deprives our skin of valuable oxygen it needs to stay healthy, which gives skin a grayish dull appearance. 
Stress can interrupt sleep patterns and weaken the immune system, leading to chemical imbalances and the appearance of dull skin and eyes. Even sleep position affects your skin. Side sleeping encourages fine lines and sagging skin around your jaw line and chin. Sleeping on your stomach encourages lines on the forehead. Best position, sleep on your back. 
Pollution is all around us, some areas more than others. Pollution clogs pores, making your skin dry and dull. Over time pollution makes your skin sensitive and susceptible to skin irritation, inflammation and allergies. 
Facial expressions can also contribute to fine or deep lines in your facial skin, like frowning/smiling and squinting. Remember that we have facial muscles that are attached to the skin, and expressions can affect the strength and/or weakness of those muscles. So smile more, it’s the lesser of the two evils!
Last but not least, probably the most important component of keeping our skin healthy, daily diet. Lots for fresh fruits and vegetables provides precious antioxidants that defend against pollutants and allergens that cause inflammation. Water keeps your skin hydrated and resilient, and lean protein helps with muscle repair. Remember we have muscle attached to our skin that requires daily repair. 
So in a perfect world, no smoking, great night’s sleep every night on your back, no stress, no pollution, no frowning and a healthy daily diet, we can all have beautiful skin! Well, maybe we need some help from the Anew Skin Line. My next blog will discuss the various Anew Skin Care lines, what they target and choosing the right one for you.

As an Avon representative, I am always interested in new products for skin care and learning about the ingredients. Retinol has always intrigued me. Retinol is a form of Vitamin A which is important for the health of cells, especially epithelial cells. They are the first layer of skin cells and don't have their own blood supply. These cells need to seek their nutrition from other sources. Of course, we can get more Vitamin A from some of the foods we eat, such as cod liver oil, butter/margarine, liver, eggs, cheese and milk (Brown, J.E. (2002) Vitamins and Your Health. Nutrition Now. 3rd ed., pp. 20-1 to 20-20).  Personally, I don't want to put butter or liver on my face to improve the heath of my skin and reduce to look of fine lines and wrinkles!!

Respect for animal welfare is a cornerstone of Avon's product safety philosophy. In fact, Avon was the first major cosmetic company to end animal testing nearly 25 years ago and we do not test on animals today. Instead, we use non-animal product safety testing methods.

Our efforts were recognized as far back as 1993 at the World Congress on Alternatives and Animal Use in the Life Sciences: Education, Research and Testing. Also in 1993, Avon was presented with a Recognition Award from the Johns Hopkins University Center for Alternatives to Animal Testing in the United States for our dedication to the principles of the 3 R's (refinement, reduction, replacement) and the use of alternative tests for safety evaluation.
Reflecting the same commitment to animal welfare, Avon Foundation for Women funding may not be used to fund breast cancer research studies involving animals. The Avon Foundation's guidelines apply only to studies funded by the Avon Foundation and do not impact other research underway at these same institutions. Through 2015, Avon global philanthropy, led by the Avon Foundation, had donated over $1 billion in more than 50 countries for causes most important to women, with a focus on funding breast cancer research and access to care through the Avon Breast Cancer Crusade, and efforts to reduce domestic and gender violence through the Speak Out Against Domestic Violence program.
